Javascript Info - See image examples below
In order to bring a richer experience to our visitors and customers, and to simplify the otherwise complex navigation tasks associated with this site (such as browsing thousands of pages), we decided to require the use of Javascript.

We have consciously tried to avoid browser snobbery and cutting-edge technology fetishism, and so have reluctantly put aside cool tools like Cascading Style Sheets and Dynamic HTML so that this site will be available to more web surfers.

Javascript, unlike its cousin Java, is not memory intensive, nor is it slow. Javascript is also much less likely than Java to crash your browser, which is a major concern among many web surfers. The Javascript interpreter in your browser downloads the script code very quickly (it is plain text), and renders it on the fly as an integral part of the HTML rendering process. Javascript also poses much less of a security risk than Java, though both have improved in that category since the early days. In fact, most professional websites now understand that Javascript was probably never a security concern and certainly is not in any way today a concern.

We've also taken pains to make sure we don't burden you with downloading the same Javascript code over and over, like some sites. We use include files, and after the first visit to one of our pages, your browser will thereafter be able to find the Javascript code it needs in its local cache.

As long as we're on the subject of requirements, member registration and site personalization require the use of cookies, which some web surfers may have also chosen to disable. However, you can still enjoy the anonymous features of our StiffCenter.com website without the use of cookies.

Feel free to attempt to browse about the site without Javscript enabled, but please don't be surprised when things don't work too well or you don't see some options otherwise available with Javascript enabled. Javascript is a wonderful tool, and we suggest you use it. And our Javascript menus are vastly superior to the plane jane menus you see without Javascript enabled.

Here's an example of how to turn Javascript on in Windows XP
In your browser click on Tools then Internet Options

When the Internet Options window opens next select the Security window as shown.

When the security window opens, be sure you select the first world icon on the top left called INTERNET. Notice how it's outlined in blue which means it is selected.

Then near the bottom left of the window, click on Custom Level. Again, be sure that you first select Internet, not Local intranet or Trusted sites, etc.

The Security Settings window will then open. Scroll near the bottom of the page and, under Active Scripting, be sure it is Enabled.

To Disable Javascript, select the Disable option. But to be sure that Javascript is enabled, click the enable option then click on OK.

Now you are Javascript enabled.
